path for opening data files

is it possible to set the default path for outlook to show where my data
files are? I keep several different .pst for size reasons, and am refering
to them often. I'd like some easy way to get to them, but for synching
purposes (with my laptop), they are in a structure that takes several folders
to get to.

Thx.

I don't think so. I believe Outlook will always look in
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook for a PST
when you click FIle>Open>Outlook Data File. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone
else will chime in.

Try this for instance:

| Does this affect the PST default path or only the Save As or Insert
| path? The text on the cited page seems to indicate the latter, as
| does trying the software itself.

Thanks, but this link was a little beyond me. I am not sure what I'm
supposed to do with it. My general problem is not inserting files, but
rather opening my .psts, which I store in a briefcase-synched folder, and it
takes several folders to get to it.

Thanks if there's anything else you can clarify with.
