Patches in XP and 2000

Yes. I am wondering how many patches microsoft has released sinse they
created Windows XP. I also need to know what the patches are for. What
purpose each patch serves. I also need to know that same information for
windows 2000. Is this enough information?

Enough information for what? You will need to spend the time researching
this yourself at Microsoft's site. Look on TechNet. Look in Microsoft's
Downloads for security patches. Look under each program's downloads.
Each security patch available for download has information about what
it is for. You'll need to look them up.
