Maintaining the patches for Win2K servers and workstations is a daunting
task especially for large networks.
We have 250++ workstations scattered in several locations and levels. We are
thinking to invest in a product called PatchLink (http://www.patchlink.com)
to manage the patches for Win2K servers and workstations.
Anyone has any experience using this product ? Any comments ?
We are using the Microsoft SUS (Software Update server)
which is a free download. This provides for local
deployment of Microsoft patches. We have in excess of
2500 Windows 2000 PCs and 70 servers. It is excellent,
take a look at www.microsoft.com/sus

Patchink is a great product. I work with a company called IIS and we used to be a microsoft partner until we were hit with a lawsuit from riaa about nine months ago. At that point we decided to go out and try and find a product that would protect us against things like that. We did extensive research and Patchlink was by far the best product for our environment. It turned out Patchlink was located right up the road from us and we partnered up with them. Currently we are their only platinum partner and offer comprehensive services. If you are interested in any information shoot me an email:craigt@(remove this)iis.com or check out our website www.patchcompliance.com. We conduct weekly webinars entitled best practices of patch management. It will definitely be worth your time if you are looking into Patchlink.
