Patch for MM2?

In response to a recent post of mine, Bob (MS MVP) wrote
that the so-called MP3 to DV-AVI sound clipping bug may
hopefully be fixed in MM2.1 which is expected to be part
of SP2. Does anyone know if such a fix is on the horizon?
 
I read Bob's post as a wish-list item, not as something being included in
the new version MM2.1.

If someone who has the problem can confirm that it's resolved with the beta
of version 2.1, or if Microsoft reports that the software was or is being
tweaked in that area, I'll add it to my growing version 2.1 info.....
otherwise I'll leave it off and consider one of many wishes.
