Pasting word table into PPT

When I try to past a word document table into PPT it loses
its aspect ratio and doesn't allow me to fit it into the
page and adjust the information in the individual cells.
I've tried saving the word document in various formats,
and special pasting them too but nothing keeps the image
true to the original.

How many rows and columns in the Word table?
