Pasting - losing formating between files

I have text in a ppt presentation (2003) and am pasting to Word and I've
told it to "keep source formating" ... but it's not working. The font is
different and the size is different ... spacing is different. Is it just
because these programs don't integrate well.

I sometimes run into simiilar problems between Powerpoint files ... where I
say to keep the source formatting, but it doesn't. This isn't a rush
request.
Thanks.

When you "copy" slides from PPT to PPT you must use Insert > Slides from
Files to Keep Source Formatting.

If you are pasting text only --PPT to PPT or PPT to Word -- Use Paste
Special > Unformatted Text.

Does that help?

Thanks Sandy,
It's kind-a sort-a helps. The problem with doing that, is that it adds
another master to the destination file ... so I then have to doctor the
inserted master with the original master content, then delete what I don't
want from the inserted slide. We canabalize from existing ... a lot! But
it's bits and pieces, a lot of the time which is why I want the formating to
hold.

Pasting unformatted, works well - in word because the "painter" copies
bullets and spacing - but in Powerpoint, that's not the case ... which makes
"pasting unformatted" more of a time killer than I'd like.

When you "copy" slides from PPT to PPT you must use Insert > Slides from
Files to Keep Source Formatting.

If you are pasting text only --PPT to PPT or PPT to Word -- Use Paste
Special > Unformatted Text.

Ok ... I'll certainly give it a try on the next one ... which probably won't
be too far along. Thanks.
