Pasting into Exel

Hi i was wondering if there is a way to paste somthing
into excel with the format #-# or #-#-# without excel
automatically turning it into a date?

You can pre-format the cells as text (format>cells>number>text), before you
paste it..
 
IT still doesn't work it will only work for one cell but
if i paste a whole table then it will still paste as a
date!

Works for me...

Regardless, you could paste into notepad, save the file as txt,
then open it in excel and the text import wizard will open,
click next twice and in step 3 select text under column data format
