hi,

I was wondering what is hte best way of including pictures on to a database
with out ballooning its size.

Many thanks if you could help

Hi Jai

Allen is totally correct in that you can’t put “anything†into an Access DB
without increase the size of the file and (to answer your question) pictures
can make your DB “very†big “very†quickly.

But you can store your pictures on to either your hard drive or (via a
server) in an external file and link to them from a form or embed a thumbnail
of the doc in a form.

For details of how to do this check out the answers already given

Do a search (in this forum) on
"I can’t embed a .bmp file in access"
“What is best: BMP; JPEG; GIF or What?â€

As you can see these are basically the same answer but with differences
applicable to the specific question so read through both answers carefully
and you should get the info you need.

Hope this helps
