Paste options button disappeared

Word 2003. Paste options button stopped to appear, even if I have it set in
Tools/Options/Edit. Any suggestion?
 
Have you tried pasting text that contains formatting that's different from
the destination? It's been awhile since I've used Word 2003 but I seem to
recall if the formatting for the source and destination are identical the
Paste Options button wouldn't display.
