I have this problem below in MS Access2000 and help from you helpful
people. Thanks.

After I Paste-Append the data from EXCEL worksheet into the new table
in ACCESS, I have to rename Field1 to Field10 in the new table by
copying the text names in the 10 cells in Record 1 (the 1st row in
ACCESS), one at a time, and then paste to Field 1 right through to
Field10 which are exactly the headername text in my EXCEL worksheet.
This is very manual and time-consuming.

(1) Is there a way where the header names text from EXCEL worksheet can
be auto-pasted into
Field1 thru to Field10 in the new table in ACCESS ?

(2) Also, when I have 15 columns of data copied from EXCEL to
paste-append to the 10 Fields in the new table in ACCESS, I am only
able to see the first 10 columns of data being copied over to the 10
Fields in the new table. There are no Field11 to Field15 in the table
to accomodate the extra data.
How do I resolve this so that the 15 columns of data from EXCEL can be
successfully copied over to the new table in ACCESS ?

Many many thanks.

Try File | Get External Data | Import and import your Excel spreadsheet into
Access. The field names will come over automatically; just make sure you
check the box as you proceed through the wizard that the first row are field
names or whatever it says. If you run into import errors it may because
there are mixed data in a column. In other words some cells are marked text
and some might be numbers. The columns must be all the same datatype.
