Friends

In my office we have a network with a workgroup. I now want to connect
to one particular XP Pro computer over the local network.

How can I make sure that every user that connects to that XP PRO needs
to provide a user id and pw in order to access files and folders on
that computer.
I have not been able to figure that out. Now I can get to the computer
over the network, and I see the shared files folder and the shared
printers, or any folder that is shared on that computer. I will want
to be able to access those other shared ones only after having
prowided a pw.

Thanks for help on this.

On XP Pro, disable "simple file sharing" and set up access control
lists for the shared disks and folders. Ron Lowe and I have written a
web page with full details:
