I have XP and I am the admonistrator and my kids are limited users. I had
enabled the IE tools, content with a password that would block ALL websites
unless I either allowed for one time use or as a permanent use.

This week, I installed Mcafee antispyware and now the block window never
appears and everyone (administrator and users) can go to any website without
prior clearance. What could have happened and how can I re-install this
helpful feature?

Hello Wesley.
Actually I did pay for it and I was advised to purchase it and load it on my
system. Now I am regretting it.
I was told last night by Dell TS that I should now purchase Norton Internet
Security and load it on as it contains a parental control feature. I already
have a firewall (a router), Do you advise me to load on the Norton I Security
anyway?

Michael

Michael,

I have used McAfee products and would not recommend them to anyone. I have
never used Norton products. The parental control feature could be what you
need.

I would also recommend this program, it's free, it also blocks sites. About
3231 at last count.
Not customizable, but you don't want to go to these sites.

2) SpywareBlaster
[[SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from
ever being installed.
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And
SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.]]

I also use the following...

Download, install, run, update and run again; one or all. They are all
good, FREE utilities. Make sure you update every program, even if you
just downloaded it. You must have the latest updates. Without updates,
you have a gun without ammo. You also need to use more than one
anti scumware program. One program will *not* catch everything.
