I used to be able to input a password to open internet free email accounts
or other accounts on various internet pages. IE (or windows) would ask if I
wanted to save this password and it did so. this worked great for me.
Also, some internet applications ask if you want to be signed in
automatically and the password is saved. This also worked great for me.

Now neither of thee functions work. I can't find where I might have changed
settings, anyone have any ideas?

Go to: Tools|Internet Options|Content|AutoComplete ; then
check both options: "User names and passwords on forms"
and "Prompt me to save passwords". That should resolve
your problem.

NOTE: another respondent suggested using Gator, which is
easy to use for automatically entering login/password
info. I don't mean to denigrate someone else's suggestion,
but Gator comes with Spyware/Adware, so consider if the
trade off is satisfactory to you (especially since you
would be allowing an Adware supported application to
handle your passwords.
