My sister bought a new computer and her "old" one has been
sitting for 5 - 6 months and she has now given it to me.
She can't remember her log on password and she was the
only user on this computer and of course the
administrator. How can I log on to windows????

.
startup in the safe mode by pushing f6,f8 or f10 and
change it from the safemode

Hello,

Did you already tried to log on as administrator with a blank password ?
Normally windows create an administrator account that has a blank password
except if your sister change it... this administrator account normally it's
different from the user account that is configured with the name of the
person itself.

Hello- I have tried logging in with no password..I tried
that also in safe mode but it won't let me in. I have
tried several suggestions from my sister..she can't
believe this one password doesnt work cuz she always uses
it. Anyway...she set it up for just one user apparently.
This is windows xp pro..and it doesnt work in safe mode.
Its so frustrating!

First off, in safe mode the username you want to try is "administrator", not
yours, your sisters or anything else.

Secondly, cannot get in that way?

Having said that...

Hack your password:
