John

I have a client with a Win2k server. Someone went and changed around rights
for the admin account and screwed up passwords.

I have no way to log in with admin rights.

I have a Linux password hack that modifies the registry, however it is not
working on this WIN 2k Server.

Is there any other hack around to change account passwords behind the
scenes? Or some other non hack way.

Any help would be great, otherwise I will have to rebuild the system. I
would like not to do that.

Anyone who is a member of the Domain Administrators group should be able to change the Administrators Domain password back to what it was originally. Hopefully you added your User ID to that group?

No, This is a set up at someones home. Unfortunately i did not set it up, I
am in for disaster recovery. I am still confused as to why they put on
Advanced server.

Thanks though.

Perhaps the information posted here could help you out:

In a worst-case you could use this:

thanks for the help, That is the linux hack i am using, but that is not the
problem.

The other option is not worth the money at this point.

Thanks.
