password @ start up

Upon turning the computer on it tells me to enter my password. I enter and it wont let me log on with my correct password and it keeps asking me to type my password again for up to three tries then I have to cntl,alt, del to boot up again. what can I do..This computer was working last night and I accidently turned it off without closing one application. I hope you can help

Hi pepper,

Go to Start > Run > Type 'control userpasswords2' (without the
quotation marks) press enter
Click on the user account and choose reestablish password.

Alternatively, you can go to Control Panel > User accounts and change
the password from there.
