password resistance

After not using my computer for several weeks, I booted it
up and found it would not accept my password. (Also a
family member had been trying to use it when I was not
there, but swears she did nothing to it.)

How can I get into the system and change the password?

Passwords don't change by themselves. Any user or hacker with administrative rights
can change any password on the computer. See FAQ tips below. --- Steve
