Someone who has two PC's a desktop and a notebook changed their password
while loged on to their desktop. Then took their notebook and went out of
town. When they tried to login, they were forced to use the old password. No
when they try to connect from outside to the company resources their are
unable to access thier files and folders. I think due to password mismatch.
We also tried to change the password on the notebook and it still wouldn't
let him connect to his resources at work form off site.
Any idea's why this can happen? And if there is a fix for it?

Are the computers in a domain? If so, the account you used on both is
probably the same one. Thus, changing the (only) password will affect both.

The laptop probably had cached the old password, hence it would still accept
it until it was reconnected to the domain, when it would start to demand the
new one.

Hi,
I know if we have the computer in our posetion we can do this. But the
person is out of town with his notebook and did not login before with his
notebook to the domain before he left. But since he changed his password on
the desktop, he know has to login with his old password on his notebook and
then connect to us through 3rd party VPN. Once he is connected is can't
access his resources and I think it's because of password mismatch.
I was wondering if there is a work around. I even tried connecting to drives
and using URL's and then inputting login name and password, but it doesn't
work. It states the password doesn't match.
