I do not want just anyone to be able to get on my
computer. You used to have to enter the password to get
in but do not have to anymore. There is only one account
on it and it is password protected, but when the machine
starts up, it goes straight to the desktop without asking
for the password

Hi Steve,

You need to disable the AutoLogon:

Click Start | Run | type:
"rundll32 netplwiz.dll, ClearAutoLogon" and press Enter.
Restart Windows
