Password Protection

I placed a password in a Word 2007 document. I do not remember it. Is there
a way that I can retrieve it or open it to give it a new password?

All passwords are breakable .... eventually! . There are utilities
available - if you don't mind giving your credit card details to someone who
cracks passwords for a living - that purport to recover passwords, but with
anything more complex than the four letters the demos can recover relatively
quickly, they take forever to run. Hypnosis might be quicker ... and
