password protection

I'm working in a network workgroup enviroment. I would like to limit access
to my computer by password but at the same time allow certain users in the
workgroup with the password to be able to access. I happen to have another
computer(NoteBook) that has that function but don't know how i did it.. Pls
Help!

If you are running XP Pro and Simple File Sharing is turned off setup a
shared folder and limit access to one user with a password . Have you other
users 'map' a drive to your PC and use the common user id and password to
access it. You could also limit the number of simultaneous users signed into
the shared folder too.
