According to Microsoft Knowledge Page 294317 "How to Lock
Your Computer" it says the following: To set a password
for your user account: In Control Panel, double-click User
accounts, select your user account, and then click Create
a password.

Problem is that when I go to User Accounts, I cant
highlight my name which is listed along with
Administrators so I cant create a password. The Add Remove
and Properties labels arent highlighted, neither is the
Password for Administrator and the Set Password key
accessible either.

I suspect my computer savvy kid - who is away right now -
has set my computer up so he can access it willy nilly -
but I cant lock MY OWN computer.

Any suggestions?

Doesn't Ctrl-Alt-Delete and then "Change Password" do the trick?

Once you have set a password, Ctrl-Alt-Delete and then "Lock Computer"
should lock it.

Thanks - it worked. I was afraid if I did that and the
Administrator had the password (ie my kid who is away)
that I would have a computer I couldnt use for a while.
But it seems to work as you said. Thanks.
