I have a friend who just got high-speed Internet service after having used a
dial-up service. She needs to be able to password-protect access to Internet
Explorer and the Internet connection while leaving the computer accessible to
others for other programs.

She has Windows XP Home. She does not have user accounts; everyone is logged
in with the same user account.

Are there features in Windows networking that would allow it to be set up
with a password on the Internet connection? Is there another software product
that would be suitable for this purpose?

Sure, she can assign permissions on the Explorer.exe and IExplorer.exe. This
search result may help.

how to restrict internet accessHow to restrict Internet Access. You may have
many options to disable a user or computer to access the Internet. Some
options can be adopted for many users ...
