Hi,
I know you can password protect individual folders in Win XP, I did that to
one of my folders, but I can't remember where to go to release the protection
by typing in the password. Can anyone help me?

How to remove depends on what method you used to apply password protection.

If EFS (encrypted file system) was used, the following article explains how
to remove encryption status:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308993/en-us

If a zip file was password protected, use its properties to change/remove
the password.

If third party software was used, follow the directions which should be in
the application's help file.

Addition for zipped files (compressed folders): If you can't find password
options in properties, select the zip file in Explorer then drop down the
File menu in the main menu bar. You should see a password related option
that is present only when zip files are selected and can use that option to
access the password fields.
