password protecting my email account

I have tried to get windows mail to prompt me to sign in with username and
password when opening, and can not figure out how to do it. I have
sucessfully created my account, went to the properties and have my username
in with the box checked to remember password. No matter what I try I can not
get the security box to come up and anyone can access my email. Any help on
this is much appreciated.

remove the password and uncheck the remember password check box.
