Password Protecting a document

Hi,

I hope I'm in the right Newsgroup. I have a user that is
trying to password protect a word 2oo2 document but is not
having any success. The system asks for a password, a
verification on the password and then we save the doc.
When you reopen the file, it doesn't ask for the password.

I'm thinking about running 'Detect and Repair' to see if
something like VBA got messed up and needs to be
reorganized but I wanted to see if anyone out there has
encountered a similar problem.

Hi Jeff,

How are you attempting to protect the document. To apply a password to a
document so that the password is required to open the document, you do it by
accessing the Tools pulldown in the File>SaveAs dialog.
