password protected screensaver

I'm trying to guard my computer from teenage boys without having to log off
everytime I walk away. I want to use a password protected screensaver, but
when I go to Appearances and Themes in the contol panel and and click on
Chose a screensaver, It says "On Resume display Welcome" rather than the "On
resume password protect" that my help information tells me it is supposed to
display. Any help, suggestions or advice?

turn off "fast swithing user" and use "Classic logon",
then you can use ctrl-alt+del to lock the computer.
