Had to replace the motherboard and do a non-destructive recovery. Find that
the original user accounts are no longer present. User accounts re-created
with original names and passwords but still cannot get access to password
protected folders. Is there a way to access these folders?

Hi Terry,

Right click on the folder that you would like to open, then go to
Security -> Advanced -> Owner and select user who will be the owner of the
files (e.g. Administrator ...). Select the check box "Replace owner on
subcontainers and objects." Click Apply or OK. If you get an error stating
that you don't have permissions click Ignore and continue with the process
of replacing the owner.
For this operation to work you have to be local Administrator. If you
encrypted your files and did not export your private encryption keys then
you will not be able to get access to the content.

I hope above saves your problem.

Hi Miha,
I do not have an Owner selection available anywhere in the folder
properties. Is there another way to get at the procedure?
Regards
Terry
