Password protect for file folders

Can anyone please tell me how I can password protect a particular folder? I
can't seem to find anything in the XP windows help section specifically for
this question.

Windows doesn't have the ability to password folders. There are
third-party products which do that, but I dpn't know whether any of them
are free.
