Since I've installed Win2000 I can not use the auto logon password
when dialing my ISP. When I connect I have to have my password field
to be blank then I can connect once I type in the password.

I know this sounds a bit silly, but the long and short of it is: ---

Keep it blank till logon time and then fill in the password - Or -
Choose to save the password and then have a password which seems to be
a double password!

I hope this makes some sense of the problem I have.

Hi,

Win200 does not show a * for each character in the password. In other
words, a 7 character password will show more than 7 * in the password
field. The password may look doubled but it is not.

Hope this helps,

Many thanks for the reply. Your reply certainly helped to sort the
problem out, as I unknowingly had a bad line at the time I installed
Win2000.

At the time it seemed, well, my version of the problem, was the
software was at fault. I can now at least say it was a "hardware
problem" :-)
Hope this helps,

Certainly done the trick for me. Many thanks again.
