Password Problems XP/ME

I have 3 machines networked running XP/ME & 98.
ME & 98 can access each other but not XP machine. XP
machine can access ME & 98 machines. I am being asked
for a password to access XP machine from ME machine but I
have never set up a password before! How do I get round
this?

Is it asking for the IPC$ password? If so, run the Network Setup
Wizard on the XP machine to fully enable file sharing:

XP ICS - Starting the Network Setup Wizard

That's usually all that's needed.

If you've created a password for the XP machine's Guest account, enter
that password at the prompt.
