I have three computers networked together through a
router (a 98se, a 2000, and an XP Home). All computer
recognize each other as being present and I can access
both of the other computer from the XP computer.
However, when I try to access the XP computer from one of
the other two, it asks for a password. I was having this
same problem with the 2000 computer, so someone suggested
having all computers log in with the same username. So I
did that. But neither the 98SE or 2000 computer can
access the XP Home computer. Anybody know how to fix
this?

1) Disable the firewall on the XP machine's LAN connection.

2) XP home always uses simple file sharing, ( via the guest account ) so it
should not ask for a password.
Re-run the network setup wizard to re-enable sharing in the manner Simple
File Sharing intended.

( It's likely either a problem with the guest account, or with the Share
permissions, or the NTFS permissions. Have you been messing with any of
these, which are well hidden in XP home? )
