My pastor received donated computers to our church. One
happened to be W2K Professional. There was a floppy drive
but it did not show up in the Device Manager. I attempted
to go into the CMOS but it password coded. I changed the
password on the administrator but the administrator
password was on another icon. After 3 strikes, you're
out. No software came with any of the computers. How do
I logon? Is there some program that will allow me to
logon?

Take a look at the motherboard manufacturer printed on it
or watch the POST information. Go to their site and
locate a manual for it. There should be a jumper that
will reset the entire board back to manufacturer
settings. Or look closely at the jumpers. Some may be
marked clearly enough to show you which to move to do a
reset.

I am sorry, but you are a little unclear of the process
what you are doing... Is that CMOS password that you can
not by pass? or is that windows 2000.
If it is CMOS then you need to open the computer can look
for a jumper labeling "bios", "config", "CMOS", or
something like that depending on your motherboard...
Remove the jumper and start your computer (for atlesat 7
seconds).... The comptuer will not display anything...
THen put the jumpuer back and then start your computer..
there will be no password on CMOS again.
If you are talking about windows 2000 admin password..
then figure out what type of File system do you have....
Depending on your Filesystem, methods of resetting your
admin accound password will differ

Thanks

.
How would I determine what type of file system I have?
I cannot get through the Admin password block as she quit
abruptly.

Thanks,

David
