Occassionaly when we try to log in to our desktop on our home computer XP
SP2 indicates wrong password, this happens to all users.

The passwords are correct and the only way to log in is to restart the
computer and then the passwords will work.
As indicated this doesn't happen all the time.

thanks for any assistance

Check the caps lock key next time before rebooting.

Didn't we do this the other day?

When you have the problem, position the cursor in the user name field
and type your PW in there so you can actually see what you are
typing. Of course you can't log in that way, but you will know what
you are typing - or what XP thinks you are typing.

Doing so will eliminate any possibility of caps lock, etc.

Until you can see what you are typing for a PW, anything else is a
guess.
