I was wondering if anyone could tell me why Microsoft limits password legth
to 14 characters?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Sorry... got the question wrong. Why is the minimum max 14 characters. For
example, Why can't I set the minimum to 15 characters?

Because that's what someone set it to be.

You can. Max length, if I remember correctly, is something on the
order of 255 characters, to allow the use of the much more secure pass
phrases.

Hi GauerS,

Because 14 characters is 112 bits and it is already an awful lot of
possibilities, is not it !
