Hi,

I exported my emails into a .PST file, with password encrypted. But when I
imported this file back onto another PC, and as the password is prompted, I
typed in the original password I used earlier, Outlook says that the password
is incorrect. This is very strange.

I've done this several times in the past without any problem. Any suggestions
what could have caused this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

There is a handy tool to strip the password of a pst-file. The funny thing
is that this tool wasn't even written for stripping the password of a
pst-file but for upgrading the pst-file to a newer format. Stripping the
password was just a (handy) side effect. Don't use this tool for any illegal
activities!!!

Read the pstread.txt file included in the zip before using the utility!

Hi Yazmine,

Something similar happened to my boss - at least I know it's not just
me. ;)

Not sure what causes it, but we come accross that a lot! In case it
helps, you'll find various tools and services on the web for finding
the password to open protected Outlook/PST files:

Perhaps knowing the password will help you work out what happened as
well as giving you access to your emails!

Let me know,

Joe.
