I wonder if someone can help me with this...
A friend of mine has Windows 2000. He has been warned that his password
would expire in X amount of days but chose not to change it (for some
reason, probably laziness). Now the deadline has passed and his password has
expired, so is now unable to get into windows.

How do we get around this? How can we get back into windows?

Any help would be very much appreciated...

Many thanks,
Julian.

Even on an expired password he can get into the machine.
He simply has to enter first the old, then the new password
in order to continue.

It was the OS which prompted the need to change the password before it
expired.
But as it turns out, this was not the problem at all.
The "actual problem" is this...
My friend has a very small business, an employee has left on bad terms,
having first changed the password to the only account on the pc.
Now my friend cannot get into his pc.

But I have seen another post on this newsgroup which seems to answer this,
so I shall get him to try that.
Thanks for the help everybody.
Julian.

Passwords expire? Please explain.

Thanks
