On our small network when someone changes their password,
they still get the "your password is about to expire"
warning message - hit and miss. I saw that SP2 was
supposed to fix this - but the only way we can fix it is
to reboot the server.

Any ideas?

But we need the passwords to expire - security. I think it's a
problem with the windows active directory not updating correctly?
Testing shows that after we change our password - the old and new
passwords work until reboot.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Steve.

That seems unusual to say the least and I really don't know what the problem is
offhand, but I would suggest that you are using at least SP3 and run netdiag on one
of your workstations and also run it on your domain controller along with dcdiag
looking for any failed tests/errors/warnings. Look in Event Viewer also for any
pertinent messages. Feel free to paste any netdiag/dcdiag results here if you want
help with them - just be sure to block out any "public" IP addresses, but leave lan
IP addresses intact. Those two tools are found on the install disk in the
support/tools folder where you will have to run the setup program there. Be sure your
dns is configured correctly for the domain as described in the link below. --- Steve
