Password entered when setting up computer

when setting up my new computer, (Win XP), I was asked to
enter a password. This was before the password set up for
the individual users. What was that first password for?
 
Your Admin account. this is used in Safe Mode to troubleshoot problems and
such. You should not use this account as an everyday account.
