Password does not save correctly

When saving my password in internet explorer it creates a
16 character password, while the correct password is only
8 characters long.
 
The password is saving correctly. The number of bullets
displayed will always be 16, no matter how long your
password, so others will not know how long it is.

The question is does the password work? It should
because IE encrypts and disquises the Password.
