I need help getting the system password back. We have a central PC in our
office that is used by different people. We recently started using a new
internet program for our business which requires a password login. The
first time you type in the user name and password, it prompts "do you want
to save this password so that you do not have to re-enter it every time you
log on" ? Of course this is a no-no for a shared PC, but one person said
yes. Now, the system does not allow me to change the password. The Help
Desk told me that I had to re-enter the system original password. That
person no longer works here and I do not know where to go to find this info.
Anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks

First, you should not post your e-mail address in public forums as it may
make you a target for spammers. Second, most users will not respond by
e-mail as doing so will reveal their e-mail address and sometimes spammers
use this device as a means of finding live addresses.

With regard to your question, XP does not have a feature that allows the
users to save a password on login, at least not that I'm aware as that would
defeat the security of the overall system. What you are talking about
appears to be a function of the application you installed and as such,
should be a question you address to the application makers.
