Every three weeks or so my wife has a prompt come up to say, 'consider
changing your password'. It drives her mad and me. I do not use Vista
so I'm not too familiar with it. Is there any way of turning off this
annoyance?

We just use our PC's at home and have no need for any passwords or
security. I have searched the web for an answer to this problem but I
couldn't find anything simple.

What is she doing when this happens?
What program is she in?

Hi,

try the following should work under vista

Right click the command prompt icon in Accessories and 'Run as
Administrator'
or click the start orb type \"CMD\" and press Ctrl - Shift -Enter

Basically get to an administrator command prompt

Type \"net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited\" (without the quotes)  and
enter

Hope this helps

Brought up command promt ok. Keyed in exactly as you said and got a
reply - 'net is not recognised as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. What I actually typed was....
\net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited\

Oh dear..... Second opinion?

Thanks for your help!

Is this Vista Business or Ultimate? If so see the link below.

If you remove the password won't this make you vulnerable to attacks on the
internet?
Unless this home PC isn't connected to the internet. In any case you can go
here:
Start Orb -> Control Panel -> User Accounts & Family Safety -> User
Accounts -> Remove Your Password. Hope this helps.
