Should I use passprop to lock the administrator account
for remote access attempts on a Windows 2000 server
residing in an NT domain or is there another utility that
should be used? Does passprop have to reside on the
server for this to work or once it has been applied with
the /adminlock switch will it continue to lock the
account after the admin account is for failed attempts?
I can't find much on this utility on the MS website.

This is a Resource kit utility, so it's included with the Resource Kit
tools.

It sounds like you are talking about locking out the local administrative
account on Windows 2000 member servers. If that is the case, then PASSPROP
would need to be on each machine, run at each machiine, you need this done
one.

Also, make sure that you have the newest version of PASSPROP, included with
the Windows 2000 Resource Kit Supplement or later. The newer version fixes
a problem where the account appears locked out in the UI but is not.
