I am running XP Pro SP2 with ZoneAlarm Pro and Windows Media Player 10.

I have MSN as my home page. Everytime I try to access it, I have to reenter
my ID and password despite the fact that I check to save my information.

Whenever I open Windows Media Player I get an IE script Error:

line 2
character 1
error syntax error
code 0
URL: http//login.passport.net/urilogin.srt?id= etc

Can anyone help?

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

or

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

2a. Start>Run>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

(WinXP users who have problems with 2a and 2b, see
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm)

3. Re-register all DLLs listed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

4. See also

5a. IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser
extensions (uncheck & reboot).

5b. Find the hijacker that caused 5a to be checked (or if none were checked,
check for hijackware anyway):

I've had the same thing which started recently (maybe a month or so ago).
MSN is also my home page. I have XP Home SP2. I get the same problem with
SP1/SP2 and MP9/ MP10 so they are not the problem.

The error on the MP login page is the same page as the normal login but the
script error doesn't show the rest of the page. I've gotten this error on 3
different web page types where each is the same login page but each with a
different script error which then changes what you see on the page.

Hope you understand what I mean by that.

Frank

Thanks.

I'll try your suggestions this weekend.

I sometimes think I am "too secure" with the new SP2 features, Zone Alarm,
and also Pest Patrol running.
