Can anyone recomend a pasive cooled or very quiet AGP card? I have on of
those cube PCs and the AGP card is about 4 times louder than the cpu / psu
fans. Its a Geforce 4 Ti4200, 128MB, so i would like to upgrade if posible
if not a similar spec card that doesnt sound like a hairdryer would be fine.
I read somwhere that ATI card need less cooling that Nvidia, hence why I am
asking here.

thanks,

chris

Sapphire makes a line of fanless, silent 9800XT, 9800 Pro and 9600XT. The
link below is to the 9800 Pro version. Nothing else in this class of card is
silent or fanless.

If you're happy with your Ti4200 except for the noise just put a passive
cooler on it. Zalman ZM-80C-HP should work fine for about 30 bucks.

An ATI with performance similar to your Ti4200 would take about the same
amount of cooling.

I think a Radeon 9600 non-pro (128 bit memory bus) should be roughly
equivalent, depending on FSAA/AF settings. If you have the money you can
of course get an "ultimate edition" from sapphire with Zalman cooler.
