I have a question that I'm sure most of you may think is
kinda dumb, but I am a new user so bear with me.
If I am the sole user of my home computer, and no one else
is ever going to use my computer, then why is it necessary
to have my computer pass word protected.

It's not. If you don't want it password protected, then don't do
so.

A password prevents unauthorised access, also make sure
you password protect the administrator account when you
log in to "Safe Mode".
