the Partition Resizer v1.3.4

The popular freeware partitioning program is back! The first free program
to resize and move partitions without data loss, is now more complete, with
support for disks up to 2TB of size.

I haven't used it.

Yes, but you could only move XP-partitions, not resize !!
The only freeware that can resize an XP-partition is qtpartet, bset
you use it within the systemrescuecd 0.2.11
www.systemrescuecd.org

So I still need a partition resizing prog... I'd even be happy with
share/trialware etc. since this is a 1 time thing-I'll never need the
software again...

I need to make C:\ larger (no OS or progs on C: , just the boot.ini,
autoexec.bat, ntdr and a few .sys files & System Volume Information
folder)

Sorry forgot (DUH!) to mention that 2 of 3 partitions are NTFS the
third is FAT32

Ranish should do it but with the mix of NTFS and Fat32 I would vote to go to
Ebay and buy Partiton Magic from Powerqwest. You could buy version 7 for XP
which I use for about $5-$15 and version 8 for $20.

No need to buy Partition Magic!! Just download SystemRescueCD from
http://www.systemrescuecd.org/

SystemRescueCD will easily resize NTFS and FAT32 partitions using the
QtParted program. QtParted is a Partition Magic clone!

Windows users -- Don't be afraid of using this program!! You don't need to
install Linux or in fact ANY OS to run SystemRescueCD. Just boot off the
CD and use the great QtParted program!

the FAQ

Q: Does Partition Resizer resize NTFS partitions?

A: No, NTFS partitions are currently not supported by the resizing
engine. They can only be moved but you cannot use Partition Resizer to
change their size.

from the HP !!!

And your point is? The top of your head?

I think Jörg Volkmann point isn't on the top of his
head, it is that he realized I could f*@# my system if
I didn't read all the facts...

Most XP users (that I have had the *privilege* of
repairing their machines) run 1 or more partitions in
NTFS and the prog would have caused my machine to be
dead in the water...

Thanks to Jörg V. for the save... in this case I would
have likely read all the doc's on it (because of the
hazards involved in changing partitions), but
frequently skim over readmes...

BTW for those wondering why not Partition Magic, I have
a licensed copy, I DON"T LIKE OR TRUST IT. I have had
really bad messes brought to me caused by PM... one guy
left me his disk, license and receipt because he was SO
pissed off at PM and SO happy I was able to save his
most needed data.

It is what he said which you conveniently left out BTW.

would have ignored it.

Do you like being yelled at? I don't and won't put up with it.
I don't know who you are and I don't know him just like you both don't who

Q: How can I run Partition Resizer under Windows NT / Windows 2000 /
Windows XP?

A: You have to boot from a bootable DOS floppy disk to run Partition
Resizer under NT/2000/XP. In Windows XP you can create a bootable floppy
disk from Windows Explorer by inserting the floppy in the drive,
right-clicking the drive, selecting 'Format...' and checking the 'Create an
MS-DOS startup disk' option. Then copy Partition Resizer in that disk and
proceed as described in README.1ST. For other NTOSs (NT/2000) there's no
way to create an MSDOS system disk from within the OS, thus you have to
create a disk from a Win 95/98/Me Installation (or borrow one from a
friend).

I didn't read the FAQ. That's your job.
