i have been experimenting with partitions using PM8. i now have the
following partitions...

c: windows and programs. 10gb

h: my documents and data. 10gb

m: music .mp3 15gb

t: temp files and tif files.

x: back up of all installation files

z: back up of all data on h: + m:

unfortunately, since doing this i have encountered a problem with windows
which looks like i will have to do a clean install. this of course means
that i need to re-install all my programs again.

can i put programs on another partition???

they seem to be very closely associated with windows and many of them
default to c:\ as their installation path.

what is the best way to put them on another partition so that things run
smoothly?

I have the same thing, and I am able to use all programs, and windows without any issues.I have Windows and programs on different partitions. When you install programs, change the default dir to where the programs are to be installed.

What is the error message

John.

i have numerous errors. the error log is corrupt and not displaying any
information except for dodgy looking icons.

i had difficulty installing norton internet security on a different
partition than windows. do you have this program and how do you get around
it?

even though i specified another installation path, it installs the
liveupdate files to c:
