I have formatted the partition after that it was created in PM, and it still
doesnt work. As before I can se
the partition in the management system, but not in Windows explorer.

I find it strange because I have used PM before in order to get the two
partitions on Drive 2.

Any more hints....

Best regards
Thomas

Try right clicking on the partition in PM, then go to advanced. Is
there an option to Unhide partition? If there is, do it, if not, don't
know.

Did you read my earlier posting?
I'd recommend to post a Partinfo for Windows here (use for that purpose
PartInNT.EXE) and post the contents preferably using a link

Had that happen to me once when I initially set up fat32 on D: Part 1
Drive2
Nothing was visible until I looked at it in a DOS partitioner. Then I
discovered the preparation software for the drive marked it as "Non Dos",
instead of NTFS even though it gave me the option to format NTFS. A flaw in
the WD software.

I had to delete the partition and reboot. Then re-create the partition
using the DOS app, and then format it using DOS format followed by format to
NTFS.
(A tricky, sticky way around )

Two possibilities:

If you look in disk management, there is a letter assigned to the
partition. In that case the letter is probably hidden from explorer -
Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its My Computer - Drives page, ensure the letter is checked.

If there is no letter, and you see 'Healthy - Unknown Partition' then
the partition has been marked as Hidden. Use Partition Magic and it has
a means of unhiding (I'm not well enough up on recent versions to know
just where, but highlight the partition and look in the menus)
