Hi,

Does anyone know of any software that will partition a hard drive without
deleting all data first?

Is there any freeware or shareware programs, I'm not paying 69.95 just to
use this software one time.

No one pays full price for Norton Partition Magic. It's heavily discounted
and rebated.

That is a great software, but no way will I pay that kind of money, I will
go buy another hard drive and back this one up first and then repartition
this one.

LOL...Where will you find a quality, reliable hard disc for $20 (or
less)?...and then go through all the trouble to install it, backup,
repartition, etc...lol...whatever makes you happy, my friend.

20.00!??! That website says 69.95 for the software called Partition Magic 8.
Forget it I can get a 40 gig drive for like 25 bucks and use this handy USB
to IDE connector I got to connect it easily and do my back up

Not too smart are you? You can find PM8 all over the place for $20, $10,
even free after rebates. Who buys software from the Symantec web site? But
go ahead...you like to do things 'your way'.

Try BootItNG from www.bootitng.com

It has a fully functioning 30 day trial period.

Good luck

Partition Magic:

ormance/pm80/index.html

Best partitioning software on the planet. Not cheap,
however.

But on a number of older nVidia video cards, like the one on my
SP1 PC, PM8 hangs permanently needing a 3-finger salute to kill.
It did work for me in Safe Mode, which was OK since it is seldom
used. PM8 works fine on my new SP2 box with an ATI Radeon card.

I personally have had so much trouble over the years with nVidia
and I read so many negative comments about failures with popular
graphics editors, I refused to buy another one.

But, since Symantec bought PowerQuest, to my knowledge, there
have been zero updates, and nothing on the horizon. The surest
way to ruin a good utility developed by an independed company is
to buy it after Symantec runs it through their homogenizer, IMHO
of course.
